To manage change, business transformation, expansion, mergers and acquisitions, disposals, systems implementations, or to cover the absence of a senior executive.
What is a typical hire period?
Assignments can be as little as a few days to 18 months, however they tend to be 3 to 12 months duration. Some interim managers manage a portfolio of clients, servicing each client part time.
How much does an Interim Manager Cost?
Interim managers charge a daily rate which will depend on their experience, the nature of the assignment and the market conditions. As a client you should expect to pay a significant premium on the equivalent permanent package (including car allowance, bonus, holidays, NIC etc).
How quickly will an Interim Manager take to get to know a business?
Very quickly! The interim will start to establish the objectives and deliverables at the interview and deliver effective and long lasting results.
What happens when the assignment is completed?
The interim will write a report to conclude the assignment. The report can be used to assess the effectiveness of the project, but also be used as a reference document to ensure that the client has a summary of the key points.
If Interim Managers are so good, why are they not in permanent employment?
A dedicated interim will may prefer the variety, flexibility, challenges, and the associated risks and rewards that interim management offers. A day to day 'maintenance' role is unlikely to appeal to an interim.
What is the difference between Interim Management and Management Consultancy?
Consultants tend to advise and recommend. Interim Managers will advise, recommend and implement. They take ownership of the assignment to ensure delivery and will then move on to the next assignment
